Contact Centres
Northamptonshire offers a compelling business proposition for contact centre operators. At its core are the combined benefits of Government supported population growth, a strategic location, and a competitive cost base. The county delivers an attractive all round package, giving contact centre operators a strong competitive edge and directly addressing the industry's core requirement; access to experienced, skilled and competitively priced labour. This labour is drawn from the 650,000 people living in the county, a number set to grow to 800,000 over the next 20 years as part of the Government's Sustainable Communities Plan. Contact centre operators can also take advantage of a large pool of accredited graduates, drawn from the University of Northampton and from the 33 major universities located within one hour's drive.
A state of the art communications infrastructure forms the backbone of any contact centre operation. Northamptonshire provides direct access to extensive broadband networks and support services across the full range of digital and media platforms. Over 35 contact centres already operate from the area, 68% of them employing over 50 people. Major industry operators already located in Northamptonshire include: Barclaycard, Nationwide Building Society, Talk Talk, Avon Cosmeti, DataForce, RS Components, Snap On Tools, National Grid and JohnsonDiversey.
