Joe Dickinson, Motorsport Professional

Joe started his involvement with Northamptonshire in 2002 when he became a director of Rockingham Motor Speedway, in the facility’s early days under the ownership of Guy Hands. He became Chairman and sold Guy’s interest to Jerry Forsthye.

Joe had become attached to the iconic £70m race track and accepted the challenge to turnaround the business as CEO. He secured the future of the facility by transforming Rockingham into a successful multi-event venue and selling the business for a second time in 2006. The buyers integrated the race track into the major mixed use development of Priors Hall. Joe, who has had a varied career in automotive (Ford Motor Company and Ricardo) and consulting (Vice President of A T Kearney), realised the rich opportunities that Northamptonshire represented and continues to support the county's development. He leads the county’s motorsport and high performance engineering initiative and is a governor of Tresham College and director of East Midlands Tourism.
