Comment on today’s Honda F1 news
“Today’s announcement from the Honda Motor Group is great news for both the ex-Honda Racing F1 Team, now Brawn GP and the whole of the UK’s motorsport & high performance engineering industry.
“The announcement that the Brawn GP team will be supplied with engines from Mercedes-Benz HighPerformanceEngines, also based in the county, is a clear reflection of the depth of engineering knowledge to be found here. Mercedes- Benz HPE will now be the supplier to 3 Formula One teams, these being McLaren, Force India and Brawn GP, throughout the 2009 season – 2 of whom are located in Northamptonshire.
“Northamptonshire is the home of British motorsport, providing a wealth of investment and employment opportunities now and in the future. We continue to work closely with businesses in the area to ensure Northamptonshire’s motorsports and high performance engineering companies have the best possible support to succeed in the difficult times ahead. Importantly, partners and businesses need to work together to provide support to those affected.”
