Invitation to apply for Fit For Market Funding

Northamptonshire County Council and Northamptonshire Enterprise Limited (NEL) have launched an invitation to apply for Fit For Market Funding (FFM). The scheme seeks to ensure that an adequate supply of high quality employment land is available to achieve jobs growth aspirations.

Total funding available for the FFM scheme in 2009/10 is £750,000. Funding allocations will be limited to up to £350,000 per project. A minimum of one project each in the north and the west of the county will be supported in 2009/10.

In line with the SELA there is a need to stimulate the supply of high quality B1 Business and B2 Industrial facilities. Projects supporting the development of these facilities will be welcomed. Priority will be given to applications that have the potential to re-use previously developed land or buildings that are presently unused or derelict.

Projects that build on the county’s key sectors including high performance engineering and motorsport, environmental technologies and sustainable construction will also be prioritised, including projects that can demonstrate the development of unique selling points for the county and impact on wider economic development activities. In addition, projects which will provide higher value jobs and/or which support the low carbon economy will also be welcomed.

The scheme is funded through the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (WNDC) Growth Fund and will be managed and delivered by the County Council in conjunction with NEL, and with the support of North Northants Development Company (NNDC) for activity in the north of the county. The deadline for applications is 03/11/2009. For full details and to apply please visit www.northamptonshireenterprise.ltd.uk or email James Cushing james.cushing@northamptonshireenterprise.ltd.uk
