The Northamptonshire Business Summit 23rd June 2010

The Northamptonshire Business Summit - A one day event, the first of its kind, designed to bring the Northamptonshire business community together.
An opportunity to listen to high profile industry professionals sharing their experience and knowledge and for attendees to participate in lively discussion forums to raise awareness of key issues facing business in today’s economic environment.
The day will begin with an interactive debate with Alastair Cunningham from the Bank of England exploring the prospects for the UK economy, this will be followed by a further six interactive discussions (of which attendees can choose to attend two, one in the morning and one in the afternoon).
Speakers include, Nick Fry from Mercedes GP PETRONAS, David Rolton from the Rolton Group, Jon Thorpe from ACS amongst other leading business professionals, the discussions will be facilitated by Caroline Oldrey, former ITV Anglia news presenter and director of Stream Exchange, and Jonathan Nunn, CEO of Individual Team Performance.
This event is expected to attract around 200 attendees and we have limited places for each of the discussion forums, so please book early!

Invest Northamptonshire (a division of Northamptonshire Enterprise Limited) are proud to have been involved in assisting Cork and Cheese Ltd to locate into Northamptonshire.
Cork and Cheese Ltd is a high quality boutique importing wine from Australia and then distributing it to fine dinning restaurants across the UK and direct to ex- Australian patriots who now live in the UK.
Invest Northamptonshire were able to assist Cork and Cheese with their decision making by providing detailed demographics on Northamptonshire along with details on potential commercial premises to rent. They also supplied a tailored relocation guide on Northamptonshire, along with detailed information on recruitment in the area which really allowed Cork and Cheese to make an informed decision on where they should locate their business.
Managing Director of Cork and Cheese Ltd, Stuart Edmond commented “We chose Wellingborough because of its central location in the UK and its direct links to London, Europe and the rest of the world. We also chose Wellingborough because of the excellent facilities and service providers located in the surrounding region. Everything we needed to set up and run our business was instantly at hand.
I arrived in the UK for a fact finding mission and was given a very warm welcome from Michael and Charlotte from Invest Northamptonshire and Melanie Crofts of EMDA. Prior to arriving they had organised with several Real Estate agents for me to view potential properties to lease for the business and once in the country they chauffeured me around to each property, with a running commentary on the surrounding area and what it had to offer me and my business. I was also provided with contact details of other organizations and businesses in the local area who provided services critical to the set and running of my business and appointments arranged to meet with representatives of them while I was in country.
The support we received from Invest Northamptonshire and EMDA didn’t stop once we had launched our business, they have constantly been in contact with us giving hints, tips and suggestions to help our business grow.”
Thanks to help and support received from Invest Northamptonshire and East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA). Stuart Edmond and his team have been able to successfully establish themselves at their new warehouse in Wellingborough, they have commenced receiving orders and are already looking at the next venture to keep their business ahead of the game.
