Key Sectors and Case Studies
Northamptonshire is one of only four designated growth areas under the government's Sustainable Communities Plan. Invest Northamptonshire was formed to implement the proposals of the new Investment Promotion Strategy for the county, commissioned by Northamptonshire County Council and Northamptonshire Partnership.
When launched, Invest Northamptonshire further commissioned consultancy and research on the key business growth sectors within the county, including analysis of Northamptonshire's key strengths, including aspects such as location assessment and review of mobility trends, skills requirements and sector gap analysis to identify future oppotunities for growth.
Business sectors that stood out from the research as demonstrating Northamptonshire's success in attracting and retaining investors include:

Since September 2005 in-depth research has been carried out on these sectors, outlining the county's strengths in each, and comparing results with other areas on a local, regional and national scale, which will ultimately help form a solid knowledge base and understanding of the massive potential for business growth and investment in Northamptonshire.
