East Midlands Development Agency (emda)
Northamptonshire is one of five counties represented within the East Midlands Development Agency (emda). Emda is one of nine Regional Development Agencies in England. They were set up by Government in April 1999 to bring a regional focus to economic development.

At emda, a business-focused Board leads the Agency in directing a wide ranging strategy and business programme, focusing on the following key challenges:
- Championing the region's economy and its development
- Increasing business competitiveness

- Creating the right climate for investment
What is our Vision?
Our vision for the East Midlands is to take it into Europe's Top 20 regions by 2010. This energising yet hugely ambitious quest will see the East Midlands become a place where people want to live, work and invest because of:
